Hi joshsk8rdouglas, it seems that you’re making the same mistake everyone esle does! There is no such thing as “one like this”. This is the Pen Rod Extreme which is 57″. ANY Pen Fishing Rod in the world that you can find anywhere else in the world is under 57″. They do not carry, nor will they EVER carry the en Rod Extreme. It is available EXCLUSIVELY at Penfishingrods,com. We are working on the NEW Pen Rod Extreme 63″ version as well! Make sure you do your research when buying a Pen Rod Combo.

it is a little …
it is a little weird to pull out as well, i don’t want to pull it too much. so it’s not just a problem going in it’s also when i pull it out. it almost feels like its sticking to something, or rubbing up againt the other blank on the fishing pole. it only happens to one of the blanks.

Hi cooldit1, Thanks for viewing & commenting. I have the same problem when fishing with it. The thing is with a pen rod extreme is that when opening the tubes they should only be snugged a little bit. When you set up the rod, just snug it gently. When fishing drop line or straight down, you won’t have this problem. It’s only through excessive casting & movement that the tubes will move a little & that’s a good thing. It means you’ll be able to close it.

I have a question. …
I have a question. My penfishingrod sometimes has an issue going back in. It isn’t very hard to put back in if I twist it a tiny bit. Is there a lubricant I can use to keep it from sticking and being a small bit stubborn. I’m impressed with the short amount of time it took to have my rod delivered. I have been very happy with the quality of my fishing rod.

Our 61&1/2″ version …
Our 61&1/2″ version is flimsy as well. We are still working on creating a strong blank which is larger than the 57″ Extreme,but will need further testing. Personally, I like the 57″ version better than all of them due to stiffer, thicker diameter. If I were to purchase one, it would be the 57″ Pen Rod Extreme hands down. Fabrication of the 63″ has been halted for now, until we can figure out what to do. Lots of people think the bigger the better, in this case, I disagree!

upatrail, o & thanks for commenting. We originally created a 63″ version as a prototype. However, the longer we went, the skinnier the tubes became in order to be able to fit the telescopic tubes into the Pen Rod housing. Upon further evaluation we have determined that it may not be such a great idea after all since the 63″ version leaves a lot to be desired. We will not be creating 63″ Pen Rod Extremes due to them being too ultra light, which will result in problems with amateur fisherman.
